Summer 2009
June - July is the time for further hikes:
Flensburg / Flensborg - a German city near the border with Denmark and the Gulf Flensburską. It is about 9o ooo inhabitants and is the third largest city in Schleswig-Holstein. Border trade center - the Danes come here mainly to alcohol (sometimes even cheaper Danish is here O_o) and sweets. He lives here, moreover, many northern neighbors in the city there are Danish libraries, theaters, churches and schools. Approximately one fifth of the population see themselves as more Danish than German. Flensburg is also the university and the Technical University (Germany) in the district Mørvig / Mürwik to train sailors and is handball team SG Flensburg-Handewitt; from hence the Flensburger Pilsener beer, also called "Flens 'welcome here greeting' Moin ', which can be heard in the border of Denmark (until Kolding). This year the city celebrated 725 years of granting municipal rights. The interesting - there is no such thing as petuh - a mixture of German and Danish. As for the origin of the name - it is not certain: it may come from the name of knight or Flensau Fleno, or the name of the stream, known as long ago as Flensa or Flensbæk - do not know ... This charming city, the port can still be felt climates - has a nice, wide promenade with lovely restored facades, lots of boutiques, cafes, bars (where I ate a delicious minced roasted eggplant - delicious ^ ^). We must watch out for the yard, and there because I can fit small restaurants. One church (and probably will St. Maria / Die Marienkirche / St. Marien-Kirche / Vor Frue Kirke) is very similar to the Evangelical Torun, Gelding Gen. Sikorski. A trip for the day.
sola gratia, solus Christus, sola scriptura:
Christiansfeld - a town in the district / province Kolding, numbering about 3 ooo population. Founded by the Moravian Brethren in 1773 and named after Renatusie Christiane von Zinzendorf - that son patron of the Moravians, Nicolas Ludwig, Count von inzendorf. Most Christiansfeld was built between 1773-1800 according to strictly prescribed plan. To encourage the construction, the King has promised a 10-year tax break and the return of 10% of the construction costs of each new home. Today the town attracts tourists Moravian Brethren Church and cemetery. And a few words about him: by going through the gate, we see the avenue: the right of the woman lying on the left hand men. All the tombs are of equal size in equal rows. The oldest of these are already difficult to rozczytania, some broke up. But surprisingly, at the end of the series can be found gravestones with dates teraźniejszymi ... Returning to the city - all the oldest part was built with the same piaskowożółtej bricks. All buildings are simple, without unnecessary adornment - whether minor or major. Square is a charming place with a distinctive fountain. In Christainsfeld is also a hotel Brødemenighedens who can boast the presence of the guests of the Danish kings from 1804
The city known for making gingerbread - honey cake ^ ^ Unfortunately, the original company / factory has been closed ... for an afternoon trip.
Ribe - the oldest town in Denmark. It has a little over 8 ooo inhabitants and is situated near the North Sea in the southern part of Denmark. Located near the marsh and its history, the city has repeatedly been flooded. Ribe brook winds its way through the city, marshes, and has its outlet in Kammerslusen. Built in the first decade of the eighth century and the first mention of the city is the year of the 854th It is in this city of Bishop Ansgar of Hamburg-Bremen, carrying the mission of promoting Christianity in the north, he saw the first church in Scandinavia. In the year 860 he sent the appropriate request to the Danish king, and so stood a wooden church.
Proper Cathedral (Church of Our Lady) began to be built since 1130, has five aisles, some stones used in construction was brought up from the Rhine, all renovated in 1900, While outside the building looks old, it is according to me, unfortunately, on the inside not feel that it is as old building. Department had begun in the Romanesque style was but one of the collapsed towers, was rebuilt in the Gothic style, with bricks. That it can now be enjoyed views. Most of the inside walls are painted white, giving the impression of novelty, or after the fire ... odmalowaniu uchowały a few frescoes from the year 1300 - so old they are five-pointed candlesticks, font and chairs on both sides of the altar. Had read that during the Renaissance and Baroque periods, when it added new furniture and decoration, old just started to break down - particularly after the wars with Sweden in the seventeenth century, when impoverished city and its surroundings. In the cathedral there are numerous plates Pamiątkowo-grave. Is quite controversial in my opinion the apse - do not say that bad, because this is interesting. But I do not know whether the paintings and stained glass that looks like it is taken after drinking a bottle of absinthe and suitable as illustrations to Lovecraft, it was a good idea for the city's oldest cathedral in Denmark ...
Ribe has retained its old character, which draws crowds of tourists each year. You can get around on foot center but you can get tired, because it is a little to see. In addition to the cathedral (which in the end I watched from the inside ^ ^) is a church and monastery of St.. Catherine (unfortunately too terribly white on the inside, not what pomroczny Thorn gothic ^ ^, but does have an enchanting courtyard monastery), four museums, a ruined castle Riberhus, many quaint streets (about 110 homes are monuments) and every night from May 1 As the Sept. 15 Mr. and sings the old town, which is a sign that the time to bed ^ ^. You can spend the night in Hotel Den Gamle Arrest (Old Jail), in which hotel rooms are old goals ... + lots of cafes, bars and restaurants - a trip for the day, you will be happy to be repeated. Most of the monuments in Ribe comes from the Middle Ages and the latest from the Renaissance. This is due to the fact that the port of Ribe zamulił and hence, the city lost its importance, it lost money. So residents do not have funds for reconstruction. Here, therefore, there is the oldest Danish town hall and the tavern.
+ Depeche Mode concert in Copenhagen. The first time I saw so amused Dunów ... What is true of our remote location Depeche may have a few millimeters but I must say - they were able to grab nearly 4o ooo people ... something unforgettable and amazing. Nice control, a smooth entrance. What else back. I do not hate to travel to and from Zealand in the night hours. Do not hate!
